Bond: Wish of the Forest

This game is being made as our 2121 Capstone Project for UC Santa Cruz. This program has students start from the ideation phase of deciding what game to make, all the way to polishing and publishing the game; all within a 1 year sequence.

Game Overview

Bond is an action rogue-lite creature collector that features hack-and-slash combat and a cute, charming aesthetic. Players can befriend creatures and fight alongside them to fend off the evils threatening the forest. Gameplay revolves around quick and fluid sword based combat and commanding your creatures abilities. Players will explore large procedural levels to collect all the creature varieties, find powerful upgrades, and defeat enemies.

My Work

I had the role of the Lead Programmer for this game throughout the year of development, leading a team of 6 other programmers towards making a polished game. I worked on nearly every aspect of the game at one point or another; from the AI, procedural level generation, core systems development, designing the stats system, and much more. I'm extremely pleased with how the game has turned out and looking forward to improving it more as time goes on!
